Hello.
My name is Mendy. I am a three year old RagaMuffin breed kitty
from California. My mommy needed a kitty to cuddle and always keep
her company because of the time she had to stay in bed with her
illness. It is a very long story how we got together that began by
accident when my daddy had the day off from work. One inquiry led to
another and before I knew it, there she was holding me in her arms. I
was in a very dirty place with a lot of other sick kitties. The lady
who had me wanted my mommy to take any other kitten but me, but my
mommy said it was me or no one. She knew we were destined to have a
future together. So did I. I was very sick and mom had to work for
months and months through many tears, and with a lot of prayer (not
to mention thousands of dollars) to get me well.
Finally, I became the healthy, beautiful little girl I was meant to
be. All the months of worrying if I would live or die brought about
many changes in my mom's life and was even the catalyst for writing a
monthly newsletter to encourage others who were going through tough
times. My mom says that because of me, many people have been blessed
and continue to be blessed. She says I am the most special kitty God
ever gave her. Even now she can't say that without tears of love,
love she will always have for me. Now full grown I have a deeply
caring heart and try to take care of everyone. Once when mom fell, I
even tried to pull her up. I grew up to be a happy girl, filled
innocence and love for everyone. Mom says everyone should have a
Mendy in their life.
The difference between the RagaMuffin and the Ragdoll is that
although we both came from the original cat, Josephine, we have been
breeding in separate genetic circles for over 20 years and have
developed a different look and Cat Standard The RagaMuffin has 66
varieties of colors and patterns whereas the Ragdoll began their
history as a breed with four colors and three patterns, all of them
being pointed. The personalities are the same.
