About Us
Figaro, the Cat of the Day
Name: Figaro
Age: One year old
Gender: Female
Breed: Cat
Home: Bethlehem Township, Pennsylvania, USA

This is Figaro, my pet cat. I got her for my birthday a year ago (April 8th.) She is no particular breed of cats; kind of like a "mutt" if she were a dog. When we first got her, she was supposed to be a he. By the time "he" was old enough for us to find out "he" was a "she," Figaro had already gotten accustomed to her name (not that she ever comes to you when you call her.) Right now, she is a little over a year old ( in the picture she was eight months old.) She is one of the loudest and most playful cats I have ever seen. Sometimes she meows, but usually she squeaks and peeps.

When Figaro spots a bird in our yard, her mouth starts to chatter, and she makes strange squeaks. Some favorite games she has are "find all the styrofoam packaging chips by stealing them from boxes in the basement and shoving them under closet doors, and then bellowing at the top of your lungs until someone comes by and opens the door for you to shove it back under," and "wake everyone up at two o'clock in the morning by licking and biting their nose." She also takes great pleasure in chewing, eating, ripping up, and disposing her waste in the house plants.

Another one of her favorite games is what I simply call "Printer." As soon as you turn it on, and it beeps and buzzes, Figaro, no matter where she is in the house, will zoom across the house, onto the printer, and literally jump in it. By sticking one of her little paws into the printer where the paper gets rolled in, she takes great satisfaction in ruining my important research papers and homework. As much of a pest she can be, Figaro has the most loving personality ever. She's not one of those lap cats who sits there and lets you stroke them for hours and hours without getting bored-oh no. She will come to you when she feels like it, stay as long as she feels like it, and leave when she feels like it. Plus, it doesn't matter what time it is at night or early morning, or what you're doing. Right now, as I am typing this, she is crawling all over me and onto the computer extremely overly protective of me (she'll do anything to scare away my friends so that she could have me all for herself) and knows exactly where her property starts and ends. Any other cats who dare to cross her property are doomed to face their death. Well, actually, not really. But she will puff up to 3x her size and hiss like there's no tomorrow!
