How
did we get them to pose like this? A lot of hard work and treats!
My husband, Matt, is a photographer on the side. Every year we put
together a Holiday photo and send it out to all of our friends and
family.
Flip came to live with us four years ago after being a research dog
at the local vet school. He lost his front leg to squamous cell
carcinoma, but has been healthy ever since they amputated four years
ago. His favorite hobbies are sleeping, eating, and sleeping more.
He's a very lazy hound dog!
Kuro came to live with us while we were over in Japan teaching
English. We had to leave Flip in America with his grandparents and we
just hated being without a pet. We found a no-kill shelter outside of
Kobe that had taken in a number of animals after the big earthquake.
We made the three hour journey to the small village where it was
located and found Kuro (which means "black" in Japanese).
He was abandoned at the age of four weeks and was hand raised by one
of the volunteers. He's very cuddly and has the habit of
sticking his little pink tongue out whenever he purrs.
Flip and Kuro get a long very well. They take naps together on the
bed. Flip was a little jealous and still has a hard time sharing his
cuddling time with Kuro, but there's more than enough love to go
around for both of them!
