I
found this beautiful kitten on a busy road on the island of
Mykonos. I was on my way to dinner and a night out when I saw her
hiding from behind some bushes, terrified of the cars. On the road, a
few feet away from her, lay her dead sibling - obviously hit by a
car. During dinner, I couldn't stop thinking of this poor little
kitten so I asked the waiter to put half of my dinner in a take-out
container. I went back to where I had spotted the kitten. She
recognized me immediately and followed me back to the hotel room a
good three kilometers away. Once in my room, I fed her and took care
of her during my stay on Mykonos. I fell in love with this little,
playful kitten who woke me up every morning by waiting by the little
mini-fridge in my room. Each day, after I fed her, she would climb on
the bed, curl up, purr and fall asleep. I didn't want to leave her
behind when I left and seriously thought of bringing her home to
Canada but fortunately, the owner of the hotel I was staying in had a
little girl who fell in love with the kitten and named her Rosie. I
hope that Rosie is doing well as I think of her often and thank her
for filling my heart with joy during my stay in Mykonos.
