Ramses
is a longhaired brown tabby moggy. He is male and aged about
five. He lives with me, Robert, in Kent, England. He is a very
special cat because he chose me! He used to live about 500 metres
away from my house, and his owners called him "Fatso." He
obviously found this very insulting, because he isn't fat, just
fluffy. He made his way to my house and started coming in through the
cat flap in November 1995 (I had two other cats then). At first I
tried to shoo him away, saying "You're beautiful, but you're not
my pussy," but I eventually had to give in! I decided he needed
a dignified name, so called him "Ramses" after the great
Egyptian pharoahs, who, of course, were cat-worshippers.
Ramses loves playing with a green fluffy bird on a
bit of string, and he likes to follow guests into the bathroom and
sit on their laps while they're on the wc! His favourite food is pork
pie! He is now my only cat, as sadly Zante (my oldest cat) died in
March 1999, and Caesar, my other cat, did a Ramses in reverse - after
five years living with me, he has taken up residence with a lady who
works in the local pork butcher's! I wonder why?
