My
husband bought Tao for me as a birthday present, as I had always
wanted a Siamese, and I constantly tell him that Tao is that best
present he ever bought me. He has quite a few nicknames, depending on
who is talking to him (he is very vocal, loves my family and answers us
when we speak to him), the common ones are Weasel, Taty, Potato, or Woo.
He sleeps under the blankets between my hubby and me, and normally
presses as close to one of as he can, even in the heat of summer. He
wakes my husband up at 6 o'clock to demand his breakfast, but he miaows
very softly, so as not to wake me up. He loves jerseys, and whenever we
wear one we get the super-lovey treatment, i.e. kneaded flat!
When we got married and we moved with him into our new house, he was
very unhappy and he spent two weeks hiding under our duvet in the middle
of the bed. He still hides there when someone he doesn't know visits,
then we introduce him as the bed-bunny. He is an absolute glutton for
biltong (dried meat or sausage) and will come in from outside with his
magic talent for sensing when we are attempting eat some without sharing
with him. He knows that I keep his packet of it my bedside drawer, so
every time I open it he leaps up and hangs over the edge with his head
in the drawer, checking things out and hinting that he would like some.
He also loves to play, he plays fetch with a rabbit fur mouse, we have
to throw it for him and he brings it back to us to throw again. He also
hunts (which I don't like) and he brings home birds and geckos, and some
really odd things! He has brought home (among other things) a whole
block of cheese and a cooked sweet potato. He waits by the front door
for me when I arrive home and hangs all over me, loudly telling me about
his day and telling tales on our dogs. I really love him.
