Before
we were lucky enough to find Max, our favorite cat, Chopper,
passed away. I was grieving terribly (still am). I had always wanted
an Abyssinian, so I was searching online to find a reputable breeder
in my area. We were about to go see a few kittens when we received a
phone call. My friend, Eileen, had found a stray in her yard. The
poor cat had been showing up every day for about a week. His foot was
injured and he didn't seem to be feeling well. Eileen already has six
cats, so taking in this one was not an option. So, she called me. She
thought he looked like a purebred cat and sure enough he was
an...Abyssinian! She brought him to our home immediately. He was very
beautiful and unique looking. Max took a trip to the vet and was
treated for his wound and fever. He wouldn't eat anything for a few
days - except my homemade meatballs. Now, he very healthy and he gets
along well with our three other cats - Simon, Fred (a polydactyl) and
ChiChi. I would have taken Max in no matter what his breed, but it
was quite a coincidence that I was looking for an Abyssinian when he
came along.
