Radar
is a very mild and meek little fellow. He joined our home in the
Spring of 2000. Radar's first home was a little over-populated with
other animals for his timid personality. With us he has a very quiet and
less intrusive atmosphere. It has been like watching a kitten grow-up,
even though he was already full-grown. After spending the first two weeks
under the bed, we watched him finally discover the rest of the
house. Then he began to experience his first expeditions to the
outdoors, learning to use a pet door in the process. At first, he did
not grasp that all he had to do was basically "walk" through the pet
door. He'd step through with his front paws, but then he would just drag
his back paws and his tail behind him, performing several "belly
busters" before he realized that gravity was involved in this process.
If we only had it on film! With his newly found freedom: he enjoys the
warm and hot days of summer in the shade of the azaleas while watching
the other neighborhood critters, surveying the cow pasture, and saying
hello to our neighbors while on their evening walks. As you can see, he
is absolutely beautiful and his personality is the same. He continually
grows in trusting us. We have two other cats; see
Tanner
and Chelsey. Tanner is tolerating his new baby brother quite
well. Chelsey, our eight-year old calico, has been cast out of her
"baby" status, and still likes to remind Radar of that with an
occasional swat as he walks by. All in all, we are one big happy family,
and we hope to have our new little boy with us for a long time.
