This
is Blueberry (on the left) and Oscar (on the right). Blueberry is a
two-year-old blue solid Tonkinese, and Oscar is a 1 1/2 year old
platinum mink Tonkinese. They are quite wonderful. Blueberry is a
jumping prodigy, and Oscar will play fetch for hours. They are quite
vocal, and very friendly. They are half-brother and sister (they have
the same mother). The Tonkinese breed is recognized by the CFA, and they
were bred originally by mating a Siamese and a Burmese cat. As such,
they have the vocal characteristics of the Siamese, but the loving
nature of the Burmese. They are relatively heavy cats, but look very
sleek (for example, Oscar weighs about 12.5 pounds currently). Their
coats are extremely soft, and have several layers of hairs, including a
very downy undercoat. Their eyes are a beautiful aqua green color, which
is only found in this breed. I would highly recommend this breed to
anyone who is unsure about having a cat. My cats are really good with
kids, and they are very friendly to newcomers.
