She
is a rescue kitty that I found and adopted in a snow storm back in
January 1995. Since joining my household she has become the queen of
the castle. She is my first born, I like to say, as I have two other
cats as well. Egypt is a cat's cat. She doesn't like to be held,
unless she wants to be held. She doesn't like you to pet her, unless
she wants you to pet her. But on a quiet Sunday afternoon, there is
nothing better than reading a book and having her jump up in my lap and
curl up for a little nap. There are those moments when I know that she
is choosing to be with me because she wants to be with me, that I
treasure. Her favorite past time is "sun swimming". When I open the
front door in the afternoon and then sunshine comes pouring in, she will
lay on the floor in a "pool" of sun and "swim". At least that is what
it looks like to me. She is a joy in my life and I don't know what I
would do without her.
