We
are nominating our cat Tanner because he is the sweetest, most gentle
and adorable boy ever! He came from the animal shelter last year after
our previous cat passed away and they knew very little about his
background. How anyone could give up this gem of a cat is totally
beyond us! Although his claws are more like talons he has never used
them against us. He doesn't particularly like to be picked up but would
never claw or try to get away. He sits patiently, meowing his long,
plaintive cry (making us think he really is Maine Coon) and once you
relax your hold, he leaps!
His favorite toys are pom poms that my daughter makes him. He spends
hours chasing them all over the house, until they fall apart and we find
strands of wool everywhere! He also likes a piece of badger fur my son
got on a field trip and carries it around meowing and moaning as if he
wants us to look at his prize! After we got him we tried and tried to
give him canned food, as our other cats had all gone crazy for it but
he'll have no part of it. All our Tanner will eat is the same brand of
dry, hairball control formula. He loves lots of water and often will be
found having a lovely drink out of the toilet if someone forgets to
put the seat down!
