This
is Jasper, Jazz for short, a one-year-old tuxedo cat we adopted
from our local animal rescue shelter. Jasper was meant to replace our
eight-year-old cat Jake who died suddenly, and as a companion for me during
my surgery recovery at home. He hopped onto my lap and purred up a storm
when we walked into the room where he was and I said "this is the one."
He's so vain... he walked into the house like he owned the place... slept
wrapped around my husband's head the first night and plays with Molly
the springer spaniel and ignores the hisses of the resident queen cat
Josephine. He squeaks rather than meowing and is a quick study on how to
get his way...like running out the door to explore... and coming home
covered with leaves, twigs and cobwebs. Needless to say, he's taken over
our home and our hearts!
