Lucy
is only one year old and has quite a distinct personality. She's a
real people cat and likes nothing better than spending the whole day by
either of our sides. She follows us around like a little dog and can
actually communicate with us. We've learned that certain sounds she
makes mean different things. She will make two quick meows (that sound
like "reh reh") when she wants to play and a loud upset cry when she
doesn't know where we are. When we hear that, we have to call her right
away to let her know where we are or she gets frantic. As soon as she
hears us call, she comes running to be with us.
Lucy likes to sleep on the bed leaning on one of us. That way if either
of us gets out of bed, she doesn't miss any action. Whenever she hears
the garage door open, she sits up like a meercat and then runs to the
basement door to see who's coming in. One of her favorite toys is a
laser light which she will chase like crazy -- even half way up the
wall.
She is also very fond of silver foil balls and loves to bat them about.
We find them in our shoes all the time. (Many times when I get to work I
will see a few at the bottom of my briefcase). She even retrieves them
like a dog to ensure we keep throwing them for her.
Lucy likes posing for the camera and is excited about the fact that she
and her brother
Paulie
got to appear on the Christmas cards we sent to friends and family this year.
Watch out Wegman dogs! Lucy is a rising star!
