Patches
was found at about six weeks old wondering through bushes at the
local lumbar yard and crying her little eyes out. I took her home to
"keep her warm and give her some food". Little did I know that she would
win my heart. I had always been allergic to cats in my youth. I
expected the red, watery, itchy eyes and stuffy nose. Allergic
tolerances do change with age as I never experienced any problems.
Patches was the most ornery little creature. If there was something she
could get into, she would. If there wasn't she'd manufacture trouble.
She had a very out going personality, was pleasantly stubborn and a
"mama's" girl. If she didn't get the attention she thought she
commanded, she would "clean off" my kitchen counters, one item at a
time, until I had no choice but to hold her and have a "conversation".
When she was little, I would carry her around with me in my big house
coat pockets and she "helped" me with the daily routine. As she got
older, she managed to create some additional daily routines. She's the
apple of my eye and love of my heart. Sadly, deteriorating health
claimed my baby and she crossed the Rainbow Bridge in January, 2000. She
is sorely missed by me and her fourteen other feline brothers and sisters as
well as her three canine companions. I'm sure that "Kitty Heaven" has been
revamped to her standards and she's queen kitty angel.
