Lily
is my baby. She loves to be held, and she loves to lick my arms
and hands. I think she was separated from her biological mother too
soon, but I don't know her history as I adopted her from the pound when
she was four months old. It was love at first sight for me, and I guess
it was for Lily too - she's slept with me every night since then! She's
the clingiest cat I've never known, but I wanted an affectionate,
demonstrative cat, and I got one. Unfortunately, she's quite hostile to
strangers, no matter how benign their intentions. Friends call her "The
Whacker" for good reason - Lily could give Edward Scissorhands a run for
the money.
Lily has no use for other cats, either - and since I have
adopted a couple of other homeless cats in the years since she moved in,
it's been a delicate balance and jockeying for position among them in
maintaining relatively peaceful co-existence. Luckily, they all love me
more than they hate each other. One way I do manage to trick Lily is
when my twin sister visits. Maybe I should be annoyed that she can't
tell me from my sister (my other cats haven't been able to either), but
it's so comical, and it's flattering for my sister, too! Lily's a real
character, and I love her dearly. After all, she's my baby.
