Sinclair's
first owner kept him from a litter of kittens only because of
his striking eyes. The man, an apartment owner, then got tired of him
and gave him to the next tenant, saying "the cat comes with the
apartment." The new owner loved this beautiful, deeply affectionate
cat, but had to give him and the apartment up to enter the hospital.
Before we adopted him, Sinclair had lived alone for weeks in an empty
apartment, having one visitor a day who would come to feed him. His
caretaker was a lovely woman who could not adopt him herself. She was
working desperately to find him a home, but the landlord, his former
owner, had set a strict eviction deadline. Finally, at the end of her
rope, I overheard her saying that she was simply going to have to let
him out into the city to fend for himself. That was the last straw for
me.
Sinclair is no longer lonely, or in any kind of need! Two of our three
girl cats are now his best friends, and our three ferrets have accepted
"the big white ferret who meows." He has a ridiculously easy life, and
he deserves it, in return for the love, and amusement, he gives us.
