This
picture is a favorite! It's our little boy cat, Pippin during a
rare moment when he was praying. Pippin has been such an entertaining
cat, although he can be pretty mean. In this picture we think his
prayer went something like this: Please God! Give me another chance to
catch that dang squirrel!" (Pippin is known for his very bad language,
so we edited his prayer a little bit). We think he's a descendent from
the famous "Turkish Van" breed, known for their talking and climbing
abilities.
Now, Pippin talks a lot and he's very clever in getting his
messages across the language barrier between us. Mostly he says, "feed
me", and "leave me alone! (or I'll smack you".) I often
apologize to our sweet, sensitive border collie, Abby, for his bad
manners. Abby learned early on that Pippin is king cat and what he
says, is the law 'round here! When Pippin enters a room, Abby must
stand very still and allow him to pass. He might rub on her for a
moment, if he's in the mood, but she knows he's fickle and may decide to
jump up on his back legs and attack her. When he goes into the attack
mode, he looks just like a little "white man" whose running after you.
Therefore, one of his nick names is Little White Man. He's known to
come around corners on his back legs with his front legs and paws in the
air and attack family members. It's pretty scary. But we love him
nonetheless!
