My
beloved Peach (so named for his color, and Peachy personality!) came
to me four years ago through a fostering program in which I was involved. I
was supposed to get him ready for adoption, but fell in love with him
and kept him for myself, and I adore this cat with all my heart. He is
the most laid back cat I have ever met - he actually should be called
Ferdinand the Bull, because all he wants to do all day is sit in the
garden and smell the flowers! And he sometimes seems to be a female cat
trapped in a male's body, because he is the most gentle and affectionate
cat I have ever met, who loves nothing more than to lick and groom and
cuddle my other cats before calling it a day and sleeping the hours
away in the sun. He will lope over to you when you call him, and if you
ask for a kiss he is right there with a lovely, scratchy one right on
the cheek - even when he sleeps next to my head at night, rare is the
occasion when he doesn't wake me up with a loud purring smooch in my
right ear!
Patience must be his middle name as he takes, with sweet-natured good
humor, a lot of playful ribbing from the other members of the family -
Betty Crocker thinks nothing of leaping on him at all hours for
playtime, Lady Jane Grey always knows where to turn for her playful
swipes, and Lulu - the matriarch of this group who really rules the
roost - just loves to plop herself near him when she wants a good lick
on the head or perhaps some advice on how to be a Zen Cat!
Everyone in the neighborhood knows and loves Peach, and I feel blessed
to have him in my life -- he is my Peachie Boy whom I adore.
