Margarita, the Cat of the Day
Name: Margarita
Age: Two and a half years old
Gender: Female
Kind: Domestic cat
Home: Almaty, Kazakhstan

Margarita is a child of misalliance. Her mother is a purebred Angora. But her father is a real mongrel! When her owners saw her lying among white fluffy kittens they decided to get rid of her. But her mother saved Margarita's life - she was hiding her for four long weeks. When I learned about her story I took Margarita from that place right away. She was so small and weak, but at least she would be safe with me. She grew up soon and now I'm proud of her - she has a strong body and even stronger personality.

She is an inborn hunter. No more mice, beetles and flies in my home! But she has never eaten her victims, because her favorite meal is cherry ice cream. She is a very independent and rather self-willed cat. She doesn't like sitting on my knees and purring. She wakes me up every morning at 6 a.m. even on Sunday. I suppose she worries that I might oversleep my work.

Margarita likes to test new people for their courage - she spits and attacks them. Some of my friends are really afraid of her. Sometimes she rends my documents, scratches furniture, swings on curtains and two years running she has been stealing and spoiling Christmas-tree decorations. But I forgive her every time. In spite of all her tricks I love her very much and I'm glad that I have so special and beautiful cat.
