Max
was our loving companion for fifteen years and sadly we had to say goodbye to
him last year when he succumbed to cancer. He was such a brave boy and we
are thankful to have so many special memories of him... in particular the
day this photo was taken. We were always dressing Max up for different
occasions (and he usually did not protest) but this is one of my all-time
favorite photos... "Santa Claws." Max was our first cat (and he was an
only cat) and during that time he provided more joy than anyone can ever
imagine. I always referred to him as my "first born" and the "good child"
(my daughter is a year younger). Max could always find a ray of sun and he
would spend hours on end lounging in the sunshine. I miss our games of
peek-a-boo... I would hide and Max would find me and then he would do the
hiding. Max also had the ability to come to the edge of the bed and meow
rather loudly a minute before my alarm clock would go off.
Max is truly missed in our household and although I said I would never have
another cat as the loss was so painful, I realized that being without a
special furry someone caused even more heartache. We have since adopted two
cats... a five-year-old Birman named Vlad and Sealy, a two-year-old Silver
Persian. I'm sure Max would approve of these two new additions.
