His
name is Ham. He was born in Hokkaido, the most northern island of
Japan. His mom lived with my colleague. When his mom went into labor, I kept
an eye on her all day long. And then I decided to keep newborn Ham.
Five years ago I had to leave him at my parents' house when I got married,
because my husband is unfortunately very allergic to cats! I live in
Saitama prefecture now. It's far away from Hokkaido where Ham lives. I
miss him, however, he got used to my parents. They are very kind to him.
He likes to take a nap and chase after a wad of paper again and again.
People say he is just like a dog. He hates to be alone. When my parents
leave home, he feels sick (he's a house cat). Every time they get home,
Ham always follows them around until they hug him. Anyway, he seems to
spend his life happily, and I am glad. I love him still.
