Neuman
is the little prince of the house. His housemates are females and
he receives the royal treatment from them. He was found running down the
middle of a busy road when he was about three months old. We are glad he
didn't get hit by a car before we found him! Now that he's grown up,
he's a very demanding fellow, he expects (and receives) special
treatment, be it kitty treats, bites from his mama's sandwich or the
fluffiest pillow on the bed.
Neuman loves those small hard bouncing balls. I throw them and he
fetches them back and drops them at my feet. Before he gained so much
weight and became portly, he could do the most beautiful soccer leaps
into the air, twist and slap the ball back to me in midair. Now he
carries them around and puts them in the food dish, the water bowl, the
toilet, my bed (not fun rolling over onto one).
His favorite spot is on my shoulder. The vet calls it Neuman's "comfort
zone." If he feels neglected and wants extra attention, he screams at me
until I pick him up and he wraps around my neck (too big for just the
shoulder). He purrs and purrs and will stay there while I do dishes and
make the bed.
His favorite sleeping spot is on top of my head. He either wraps around
my head and sticks his nose in my ear and snores, or he pushes my head
off the pillow while he stretches out on his back with feet in the air.
