Milo
is "Mr. Personality." We adopted him at three months old from a
local shelter. He has since grown to nearly thirteen pounds and is now almost
two years old, although he is still very much a kitten. He is extremely
active and loves to play with his "little sister" Chloe. They will run
all over the house for hours chasing and tackling one another. He enjoys
cat toys too, but probably not the same way that most cats do. He loves
the sticks with long "tails" and feathers attached to them and begs us
to tease him with them. The catch - he doesn't like the tails or the
feathers. Just the stick. He'll sit and look at us, completely
uninterested as long as we're waving the feathery tail. But as soon as
we swing the stick around, he gets down to business. If at any time he's
not getting quite enough attention, he will find one of his sticks, drag
it to the middle of the living room floor, lay by it and whine until one
of us comes to entertain him. But believe me - we're the ones that are
always entertained.
Another of Milo's little quirks is his morning wake-up call. Each
morning - about ten minutes before the alarm rings - he will wake us by
jumping on the headboard of our bed and batting at the large picture
hanging above it, which produces a rather loud and quite irritating
sound as the picture frame scrapes along the wall. As long as our eyes
are open and we're speaking to him, he's an angel. But if we close our
eyes again... Scrrraaaaape! He shows us who's boss on a daily basis...
and we love every minute of it. Never met a cat quite like him. Like I
said - Mr. Personality.
