Kitty, the Cat of the Day
Name: Kitty
Age: Five years old
Gender: Male
Kind: Domestic Shorthair
Home: Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada

This is Kitty, so named because like many cats he was encountered as a stray and we were not sure whether or not he had a home. Besides the fact that at the time we met him I was definitely not a cat person and had no intention of keeping him. Well Kitty has cured me of that! After my fiance brought him home on cold Canadian Thanksgiving day I couldn't help but love him.

Kitty has proven to be one of the best companions you could ask for. I learned that when he and I moved into Northern Labrador for a few months. Kitty was the best roommate ever. He was entertaining when I got home for work but did not demand to go out into the freezing snow. He also kept me warm on some very cold nights. Kitty is also a good brother to his two younger canine brothers. He tests their food before they eat it, warms up their beds before they go to sleep and gives them exercise by engaging them in a game of chase the kitty.

Kitty's into trouble as usual in this smaller picture! Once again he has stranded himself on the roof and awaits rescue. What a character! Besides playing the role of mischief maker in this family, Kitty also has the sometimes difficult role of being big brother the canines. It isn't always easy to keep those two in line but Kitty does it with a firm paw. It is also Kitty's job to make sure his mother is up at the ungodly hour of 6:00 every morning. Whether she is working or not.

Thank goodness he came to live with us imagine the state we'd be in without him! Dogs would sleep any where they chose, people would sleep in til maybe 8 or 9 in the morning and no exercise getting the ladder out and pulling a cat of the roof for the umpteenth time! He leads a pretty busy life but rest assured he makes up for it with plenty of cat naps and cuddles. We love our little Kitty and hope you do too!
