These
are my two babies, Moby and Atticus. They are Devon Rex cats, and
as you can see they have ears the size of saucepans and a funny kind of
fur. They came to live with me from a breeder in Queensland, which is a
long way from where I live. So they had to fly down and get used to
Melbourne weather. Thankfully they had each other for company. I chose
Devons because I have been allergic to cats in the past, and I saw its'
cousin, the Cornish Rex on Burke's back yard (a TV show in Australia)
and got so excited - I hadn't been able to be near a cat for years
without sneezing and hay fever.
Moby is very curious, he follows me around the house 'talking' to me in
little chirps and chortles, and he likes to try and escape outside when
we are not looking. He loves to get in under the doona and snooze at
your feet. He gets upset if he can't find his brother, and will go
looking for him all over the place, calling for him.
Atticus is deaf, but he has the loudest miaow I have ever heard. He
likes to weave in between your feet when you are walking, and wakes me
up at 5:30 every morning - much to my disgust - by nipping me on the ear
and kneading my hair! He also likes to watch the drips from the tap in
the sink and try to catch them with his paw. They are both very active,
and playful, they love to ride on my shoulders while I walk, wag their
tails when they are happy, and are always happy to see me. I am so
blessed and thankful to have these two little guys in my life.
