My
name is Katie and my family consists of mom and Neil. Then I have two
siamese cats (HP-11 & Menew-13), t-boo (Shih Tzu-8), two birds
(Angel, albino budgie-3), and Congo (African grey parrot-1). We are one
big happy family. Well... Sometimes I squabble with Menew.
We are all inside pets, and we have a big back yard that is nestled up
against the woods. I love to go there and explore. In the afternoons I
love to sit in the birdbath and watch the rabbits and wild birds come
into the yard and eat. I use to chase them, but now I don't. Mom didn't
like it when I did that. Now I just watch from a distance. I must tell
you, it's a hard habit to break.
My early life was kinda sad. When I was eight to nine weeks old I got
lost from my litter. I had to look for food on my own. It was scary at
night being alone, nothing to cuddle.
I was wandering around when suddenly this storm hit. I ran up this big
tree and tried to hide. I got so wet and it was scary I started to cry.
Ms. jean rescued me. She fed me and I played with her little dog. I
lived outside, but this was okay, life on the streets wasn't that good.
About a month later Ms. Jean picked me up, we rode in her car, first
time ever. Boo the dog went with her all the time. I was feeling lucky.
Not cat in the hat, but cat in the car. We stopped... She put me out
and left without me. I ran into the woods to hide because cars passed by
so fast... What was going on? What was I to do? I was scared. I stayed
close by, hoping she would come back.
Two days later I heard voices, there she was to get me. She had the lady
from across the street with her. I knew who she was because when
visiting, she played with me. When Ms. Jean called my name I came
running, the neighbor picked me up and off we went. I was so happy. Now
I would go home... Safe again.
On the way home I heard the neighbor say to Ms. Jean, "I can't believe
you would just drop this poor kitten off and leave her". After that I
started living with mom, neil and the others across the street. I didn't
even go to visit. I am one lucky cat - 6 out of 9 lives.
Mom says:
Katie is a great pet. She is friendly, playful, loyal and obedient.
She waits her turn and shares willingly. She is loveable and loves to be
loved. She has added a lot of joy to our family.
