This
is my sweet cat Hana, she brings such joy and laughter to my life.
She is a indoor cat yet she loves to watch the birds from the
many windows in our house. She will run from one window to the next to
keep up with the birds. When she gets really excited she does what I
call her "Hana Dance" where she hops sideways and then rolls over, it
makes me laugh every time she does it.
Hana was a kitten of one of the feral cats that was rescued by Melody
Law. You see she and a friend of hers works with the local Pineapple
Company and the Maui Humane Society to trap the feral cats that run in
the Pineapple fields of west Maui and they see to it that they are
spayed or neutered and other wise taken care of and then released back
into the fields to help keep down the mice and rats. If there are
females expecting kittens they try to find homes for them, and that is
how I got my sweet Hana. So she never was a feral, just a kitten of
one. I got her when she was eight weeks old.
Hana has a very funny personality always running to see the birds and
playing with her little rubber balls, she even plays fetch. She sleeps
in the windows during the day and with me at night. She hates to be left
alone, she always gives me one of those "don't go" looks as I leave for
work and then she will just talk and talk and talk when I get home
letting me know she missed me. As you can tell she is very loved and she
is the sunshine in my day. I love talking about my Hana.
