Sheba
is one of those animals who just destroys the stereotype of cats
being aloof. She's her own kind of cat - a little tabby, a little tiger,
a little calico. This is the most affectionate cat I've ever seen, just
constantly demanding lots of love and attention. In fact, that's why I
adopted her - I was looking for an entirely different kind of cat at
the shelter, but she just jumped into my arms and pleaded with me to
take her home. So I did.
I don't know much about her early history, other than that she lived in
the next town and was given up when her owner decided to move without
her. (Can you believe anyone not wanting to take this cat everywhere?)
I've had her for three years now, and though she did pudge up quite a
bit in the first few months, she just loves her home. Unfortunately,
she's not too crazy about her brother, Chooch, whose playing habits are
a bit too rough and physical for Sheba's tastes. Actually, they don't
get along at all, but manage, for the most part, to keep to themselves.
And she's still frightened when someone she doesn't know comes to the
house for the first time. The best part is her automatic licking
button. Scratch her just at the base of her tail, and she'll immediately
start licking whatever part of your body is closest - and she won't
stop until you do.
