Tantrum, the Cat of the Day
Name: Tantrum
Age: Seven years old
Gender: Male
Kind: Grey tabby mix
Home: Seattle, Washington, USA

This is my fuzzball, Tantrum. He rarely is ever called Tantrum because I am constantly calling him by one of my other names for him (fuzz, mister, tanny, kitten, etc.). Despite what his name might say about him, he really is a cuddly kitty. Tantrum came to me about seven years ago. I actually went out searching for him because I knew there were some stray kittens in the neighborhood. After hearing him cry out for me from a ditch, I caught him and took him home with me. He was extremely happy to have a warm and loving home. When I went to college, he and my other cat, Snowflake, had to live with my dad. I missed them both like crazy and every time I came home for a break, I think I was more excited to see them then my family! After I graduated and came home, the three of us moved into an apartment, and Tantrum is more lovable than ever!

He is always on his back, wanting a belly rub, and sometimes he follows me around so I will pick him up and pet him and give him kisses on his forehead, which he loves. A year or so ago I bought him a catnip filled chipmunk toy which he absolutely loves, and plays with all of the time. Usually he gets bored with toys after awhile, but I even had to buy him a new chipmunk because the old one was lost when we moved.

He thinks that people food should also be his food (a bad habit he picked up living with my dad) so he meows when I am in the kitchen cooking - especially if it is cheese. Both he and Snowflake sleep with me every night (although Snowflake has to sleep right next to me, and Tantrum likes his freedom a bit more).

Every day when I get home from work he gets up from wherever he is sleeping (usually in a sun spot) and comes to say hello. I am pretty sure that both of my kitties understand me, and when Tantrum gets in trouble for picking on Snowflake (she is 21!), he knows it. But, he is still the sweetest boy ever, and anyone who knows me knows how much I love my cats. I don't know what I would do without them! I am thankful for them every day!
