Raymond
was rescued from _beneath_ my wife's classroom. She heard
something whining for a couple of days and we tried to coax "it" out. On
the fourth day of trying my wife was close enough to the sound, stuck
her hand in and out came this kitten, malnourished and dehydrated.
Raymond was about four to five weeks at that point, almost able to eat
solid food. So we bottle fed him for a week or so, and two years later
you see him in our Christmas Tree last winter.
I believe this cat thinks he is a person. He has a tendency to follow
me from room to room and stay with me and loves water, to play in it,
drink it, it wants to get into the shower... while it is running.
Sadly, he got out and was hit by a car recently, sustaining a fractured
back right leg, which was re-set and splinted. But he has some other
issues such as nerve damage at the base of his tail resulting in fecal
and urinary incontinence, our vet says he has a 50% chance of healing.
So once again Raymond is put in a situation where he is fighting for his
health. But we are confident he will win the battle, being the fighter
that he has always been.
