A
stray cat gave birth to ET and five siblings in my basement window well.
She immediately distinguished herself from the others because she was so
bizarre-looking. She looked more like a bat than a cat, with huge ears
and eyes and I immediately fell in love with her. As you can see, she
grew into a lovely cat, but her name stuck anyway!
ET is very special to us because, despite having developed diabetes and
neuropathy (weakening of her back legs), she remains very sweet-natured
and affectionate. She tolerates her insulin injections very well and
has even regained most of her normal ability to run and jump. She
teaches me everyday lessons in love, endurance and courage. She is precious.
