This
is Nala, planning her very full schedule of naps, meals, and
cleaning sessions. I adopted her at the local shelter a year ago - she
came up to the front of the cage when I put my fingers in to get her
head scratched. She was picked up as a stray and apparently had already
had kittens. Although she was a stray, I suspect that some kind person
was feeding her at times because she will blaze into the room if she
hears someone on TV say 'Here kitty kitty'.
Her greatest joys seem to be sleeping in her bed or mine, of course
eating, and giving head butts to any people around. She sleeps quietly
through the night but in the morning she comes to sit on me and lick my
nose gently in the morning to remind me it is time to get up and feed
her. Her motherly instincts come out often when she grooms our other
young cat, Atlas - but she's had to resort to doing it while he is
sleeping because otherwise he doesn't stay still well enough for her to
finish grooming him. She has no interest in going outside, and is not
even curious if the door is left open. If I put her outside just for a
few minutes she just sits there and stares at the door until I let her
inside again. It's as if she has had enough of the outdoors and is
happy to finally be indoors and live a comfortable life. Nala is such a
special loving cat who enriches my life so very much.
