This
is Merlot. She is a purebred Maine Coon, and celebrated her fourth
birthday in August. She lives in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada,
with her humans, and two other cats, Hunter and Berik.
She's one clean cat! Merlot loves to help out with the laundry. When it
first comes out of the dryer, she will follow you around until she
figures out where it will be folded and stacked. Then she settles in
for a nice warm snuggle! We slowly cover her with laundry and she will
sit there and purr loudly and contentedly, until the folding is
finished. She will sleep there and not move for as long as we let her.
The only thing that will bring her out voluntarily is the changing of
sheets on the bed. Again, she will let us cover her over completely and
she'll play under the sheets (even the fitted sheet) until we have to
whisk her away. She loves the fresh laundry!
She will also splash in water in the bathtub, or stand and drink from
her water dish with her two front paws planted in the dish! Obviously,
she's never paid any attention to the rule that cats don't like water!
