Hi!! My name is Winny and I'm thirteen years old. My mommy rescued me thirteen years ago when she was just a teenager herself. She was jogging around the park warming up for a very important cross country race and she almost stepped on me!! I was nestled in a pile of leaves trying to keep warm. She scooped me up, bundled me in her sweatshirt, and handed me off to her friends to watch over me while she ran the race. Congratulations to mommy because her team won!! And that's how I got my name...Winner!! Affectionately shortened to Winny.

After the race, mommy drove me to the vet so I could get my very first checkup. I got a little car sick on the way and threw up on mommy's sweatshirt. But she wasn't mad, she was just glad that I was safe. The vet told us that I had a little cold and a couple scrapes on my nose and ear, but otherwise I was in perfect health!

When mommy brought me back home to meet my grandparents, they were less than thrilled to have a stray kitty in the house. But for mommy and me, it was love at first site!! And after some tears, grandma and granddad eventually took me in their arms and gave me a big hug and kiss to welcome me to the family.

For ten happy years I lived in that wonderful house in NJ! While I was busy playing with my toys and perfecting my hunting skills outside, mommy was busy finishing high school and eventually went off to college. But she never missed a chance to cuddle with me and let me give her a kiss on the nose. Sometimes she would call home from college and leave a message on the answering machine just for me, so I could hear her voice!

Eventually my grandparents decided it was time for a change and I retired with them to Florida. I miss mommy a whole lot, but I love my new life down in sunny Florida. I don't get to go outside anymore ... there are scary fire ants and alligators to be afraid of, but I have just as much fun exploring my new house and lounging by the pool. And mommy comes to visit all the time! And I still like to cuddle with her every change I get!!
