Lena, the Cat of the Day
Name: Lena
Age: Two years old
Gender: Female
Kind: Siamese, Tabby
Home: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

Meet lovely Lena. She and her brother Nelson were the offspring of a cat who was rescued off the streets by the Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association (VOKRA). Now she lives with Nelson, her step-brother Nat, and her two humans. As you can see, Lena is a classic example of a Siamese-Tabby cross. In other words, she's a glorified mutt. But what a beautiful mutt! From her bright blue eyes to her chocolate paws to her speckled belly to her stripey tail, Lena is truly spectacular.

Around here, Lena is the boss of us all. She has a wide vocabulary of mews, waahs, and maarrgghhs, that she uses to let us know when it's wake-up time, snack time, play time, and "pet-me-right-now" time. When she thinks her brothers' play-fighting has gotten too intense, she'll break it up with one swipe o' the paw, and when she thinks one of them needs a bath, she will administer the requisite licks.

Lena's favorite pastimes include bird-watching, staring down the cat next door, and rolling around in her hammock while you gently but firmly pull her tail. She has occasionally been caught drinking from the toilet, but we will forgive her that one unfortunate habit.

Lena is uniquely wonderful and brings us joy every day just by being herself.
