This
is Amber. She is a gorgeous pure black British Shorthair cat who
turned two years old last April 23rd. She lives with her sister
Jiggy and our family in London, UK. We named her Amber due to her
gorgeous, amber-colored eyes which contrast so well with her shiny ebony
coat.
Amber is so special to us as just under two years ago we found her,
along her with Jiggy and five other kittens, neglected and dumped in a
cardboard box in a car park near our house, almost starved to death. Our
family took them in and nursed them back to good health. We decided to
keep Amber and Jiggy and gave the others away to our friends and family.
Because of this Amber has always been very precious to us and we feel
very lucky to have found her.
Amber has a very loveable personality and loves to be cuddled. Due to
whatever atrocities happened to her and the other kittens before we
found them, she is a little shy around strangers at first, but once she
becomes used to someone she is very affectionate. She loves to play
'hide and seek' with us behind the dining room chairs.
She refuses to eat any of our leftover food - she will only eat cat food
- lots of it! She often starts on Jiggy's food once she has finished her
own. She also enjoys seeing herself in the mirror and in photos and
would just love to be pet of the day!
