We
rescued Pinot from a nice no-kill shelter after she had been there
for eight months! How people passed over her sweet face is beyond me. She
loves attention and she loves people playing with her. She will perform
acrobatic maneuvers that will simply amaze. She also has managed to
break almost every toy that we have brought home for her. She really
should be a toy tester for these cat toy companies. They are not
manufacturing up to her standards. However; as athletic of a kitty
Pinot may be, she lacks some common sense. If she were a child we
would be strongly encouraging her participation in sports rather then
expecting an academic scholarship. Luckily this means she is easily
entertained, often chasing lint. She is also quite the "winer" with her
high-pitched meow hence her name, short for Pinot Noir. Whether she is
in the car, greeting you home, or attempting to wake you at 3 a.m., you
can be assured she will be heard.
Meow!
My name is Pinot! My first owner had to turn me into a shelter since
she became to old to care for me. I was in the shelter for over seven
months! It was not fun. I don't care for other cats too much so I had
to boss them around to make sure they left me alone. Then one day this
nice lady came to visit me. She then took me home but I meowed and
whined the entire way home. I wasn't sure what was happening! I was
scared. She says that I whine all the time and that is why my name is
Pinot. I don't get it.
I love my new home though. I roam free all day long and sit on my cat
condo and watch for neighborhood cats and birds. They won't let me
outside though so I often try to get at critters outside through the
window. I tried to jump through it once. I won't try that again. I
wish they would let me outside but they keep telling me no. It is
always "No Pinot, you can't go outside." I got out once but I got
scared and ran back inside. I wonder what is out there?
I love to play. I have broken several of my toys but they bring more
home so it is okay. I often roll around and jump and bite and grab toys
out of the man and lady's hands. They are such wimps. I like to play
with them though. I wish they were home all day. I don't like it when
they leave. They keep saying they have to "work". I take it work isn't
too much fun. I try to wrap my paws around their legs in the mornings
to stop them but they still go. When they come home I race as fast as I
can to greet them and then I either meow (or whine as they call it) or
roll around on the floor.
I like to walk across them as they sleep. I'm kind of restless at
night. When I do get tired I will either sleep on the lady's shoulder
or in between them under the covers. I have the loudest purr and they
tell me it wakes them up. I don't really care though. After all, it is
all about Pinot.
