Hi,
my name is Baby Sooki. My family rescued me one year ago. I was
left in a taped-up cardboard box, during December, outside a police
station. I was on the last of my nine lives. I had worms, fleas, hair
loss, and broken teeth, from abuse. At five years old I weighed only five
pounds. I was put in a shelter with little hope of adoption as an adult
cat with a poor background. Two weeks later a couple walked in looking
to find a companion for their kitten. Her name was Alice and her only
buddy, a thirteen year old dog, had to be put down because of cancer. She
just turned one year old and had never been without a friend. My mom
saw me crouching in my cage and talked to me. I immediately went to her
and began talking back. One of my favorite things to do. This sealed
the deal and my mom and dad brought me home that night.
It is now one year later, and after plenty of food, medicine,
"brushies", and love I am a healthy eleven pounds. I am extremely active
and love to talk. I have so much to say that I talk all the time. I
talk morning, noon, and night to anyone who will listen. Sometimes
people just stop listening to me and walk away but I will keep talking
to myself or anything nearby. Alice is a great baby sister and we play
every day. I keep her in line and she keeps me young. We can't stand
to be separated; not even in different rooms. My favorite toys are my
string and my cloth mouse. I carry them all over the house and make
sure they never get away from me. Well, I must go. It is time for my
nap on my favorite chair. I feel my mom and dad have given me the last
of my nine lives back and it is going to be the best one of them all.
