Chester, the Cat of the Day
Name: Chester
Age: Fourteen years old
Gender: Male
Kind: Orange Tabby
Home: Colchester, Vermont, USA

Hi! My name is Chester, or as I am sometimes called: Chester the Investor, Chester Wester, Chester the '60s Protester. I am a big, strong cat. You can't hold me down. Even though I don't have front claws, I have back ones that can get me out of anything! I like to give my Mom a neck massage when she is in bed. I purr very loudly while I'm massaging. My Mom says that I could get a job as a masseuse, I'm so good.

I always greet my Mom at the door when she comes home from work. That way I am first at the dinner table. I love tuna and chicken, and will lay down on the table until I get some.

I'm a playful guy. One of my most fun things to do is to jump from the floor to try and get the spider plant that hangs down from the ceiling. I have made some nice claw marks on the wall in the dining room on occasions when I have missed the plant. Even though I don't really like being held, if you hold me up the spider plant, I'll be your best friend. Another favorite trick of mine is to sneak out of the house whenever someone opens a door. I am very quiet and sneak out before anyone notices. Of course, when I get caught, I run right back inside.

I love paper bags and boxes. You can always find me inside a bag, crumpling up a bag, or making a nest in a box. I like to get in the bags even if they still have groceries in them. When someone is going on a trip, I will also pack myself right in the suitcase or duffel bag. I hate being left home with just my kitty sisters Zoey and Felix for company.

I'm getting older, and have had some major health challenges. Last year I had to have one of my kidneys removed as a tumor was growing inside of it. I had to go to a specialist for an ultrasound and another one for the surgery. Then, recently I had to have a cyst removed from my forehead. I am fine now, though, thanks for asking.
