While
I was in England on vacation, my favorite cat, Shadow, disappeared
while being taken care of by my husband. He searched high and low but,
living in a beach town with so many visitors and such Shadow being such
a friendly, loving cat, we are hoping he has a good home.
After a short time I went back to the SPCA and found, or he found me by
yelling the loudest, Michael, so named since he could do a 360 in the
air like Michael Jordan. It has taken me quite a while to get used to
him but I am warming up to him. My husband thinks that he and his
brother, Reds, are the most special cats in the world.
Michael doesn't mind if I pick him up or stroke him when he is on my
lap, but he also doesn't mind hiding behind a door and doing a 360 down
my leg. You would think that, after being rescued, Michael would feel
grateful for the nice things in life such as poached flounder or
haddock. We live out on the bay and fish abound, but Michael only likes
dry food, bullets, or my solid white albacore $2.00 tuna, which I tell
my husband is not good for him. Reds will eat most things, his favorite
being roast chicken or the juice from a can of cat food. All things
considered though, I do love them so, and am thankful for in this season
for Michael helping fill the empty spot in our home. Even if it is in
the centerpiece!
