This
is our boy Ashers. We acquired him as a mangy kitten from our local
animal shelter. When we first got him, he was sick with an upper
respiratory infection and had every parasite in the book. But after a
little special care, he started growing and has never stopped since.
Since he is a stray we are not sure if he is really part Maine Coon but
he has many of the characteristics- he has huge mane (this picture was
shortly after a haircut!), and also chirps and loves to play fetch as
Maine Coons are known to do. We don't really care about his breed - he
is our special boy and we love him no matter what!
It's hard to guess what he went through during his kittenhood out on the
street, but as a result he is a bit of a scaredy-cat. In spite of this,
he is very affectionate with us and loves to cuddle. He is an attention
hog and will come running to have his head scratched if you hold your
hand out. His hobbies include covering everything in sight with a
blanket of his fur, playing with furry mice and feather teasers, and
napping in his favorite spots on top of the couch and on his kitty
condo. He also enjoys watching the birds on the bird feeder outside and,
until recently, watching his very own pet fish, "Sushi" ( R.I.P.). He
also has his work cut out for him keeping his mischievous sister cat
"Moozers" in line.
We love our Ashers and wouldn't give him up for anything in the world!
