This
is Shippo, our four-month-old grey tabby kitten, who lives in Kailua,
Hawaii. She came to us via a tree in front of our kitchen window one
rainy night.
Shippo, means "tail" in Japanese, but is also the name of an animation
character who is a fox-boy (who looks and sounds more like a girl) with
a really fluffy tail. We thought she had a "foxy" face and she does
have a bushy tail (although you can't see it in this picture. She is a
kind of split personality. She can be very lovey-dovey one minute,
letting you hold her for long periods of time as you walk around the
house doing other chores with your other hand!
And then she will tear around the house like a banshee the next minute.
Her favorite thing to do is play with our six year old Border Collie,
Blue. They adore each other. She hops around like a kangaroo after him.
He plays "keep away" with her "hide-a-sack". When he goes outside, she
cries and cries for him to come back. Blue will bring her all her
favorite toys, one after the other when he wants to play. When she wants
to play, she will latch on to him around the neck and "ride around" till
he gets the hint!
