Lucy
is our sweet, sweet girl. We took her in as a stray about 5 1/2
years ago. She was pregnant, terribly malnourished and had such a huge
belly that we thought she might have trouble with delivery. Well,
needless to say, we fell totally in love with her and she has been with
us every since. She lovingly greets us at the door when we arrive home
each day, always so eager to smother us with affection by licking our
hands as we try to pet her. When one of us showers, she sits and waits
on the toilet seat; once the water is turned off, she just meows and
meows until we open the shower curtain and pay attention to her once
again (she may be just a little spoiled...).
She absolutely loves - and never tires of - sitting on the windowsill in
our bedroom and "chasing" lizards that walk on the glass outside. She
also loves fresh water so much that after she takes just a drink or two,
it's "old" and she cries until we dump it out and give her "fresh" water
once again. Some mornings, she tricks us by making us think she hasn't
been given clean water yet and ends up getting it twice - she's a smart
one! We just love her so much and couldn't imagine our home without her.
