Magic
is a rescue from the humane society who was found by the rivers of
Pittsburgh. When we went to the shelter we were looking for a black cat
to take the place of the female we had that had just died. Normally they
have at least four black cats, as people are unlikely to adopt them for
some reason, but when we went he was the only all-black kitten they had.
He was only around six months old at the time.
The first night we had him he got up on our kitchen table and started
fishing peas off our plates and started eating them. Magic has grown in
to a big cat with lots of attitude. He loves to talk and tends to think
we understand him. He won't drink any ordinary water. He won't drink it
unless it comes from our bathroom sink, and he has to have his own bowl -
he refuses to share with our other two cats. When it's time for bed he
crawls in bed with the nearest person and get under the covers. He's the
best cat a person could ever ask for.
