This
is my cat Samantha Rebecca (Sammy), asleep on the catnip and looking
out a window. She is seven years old, and what I call a Tuxedo cat. I have
three cats: Sammy, Molly Ann (an identical twin to Sam, although Molly's
tail is short and twisted), and five-year-old Mercedes Linda (Sadie for
short), a cat I rescued as a kitten from the parking lot at work when she
was about two months old).
Seven years ago, Sammy sort of picked me out when she was let out of her
cage. We bonded right away, and we've been buddies ever since. I picked
her sister at the same time, so they'd have company. Sadie sort of
happened along a couple years later. You know what they say about cats:
you can't have just one!
Sammy is the cat I've always wanted. She's always nearby. She has a
certain way of communicating. She may not speak English, but she gets her
point across. She sleeps at my head at night, and I miss her if she's not
there! She and the other two cats are great company. They are indoors
cats, but love to watch "cat t.v." (life out the windows). I'd kind of be
lost without them.
Sammy doesn't do any "tricks", but she's smart as she can be. She
communicates really well with me. I don't know if it's because I
understand cats (my kids call me "the cat lady") or if she's just smart.
But we seem to be on the same wave length. And I think she thinks she owns
me, and not the other way around! She follows me around from room to room,
and is just always there. The other two cats follow, too, but they seem to
be on their own "wave length," not as close as Sam is! I love all three of
my cats, but Sam is my special girl!
I've had her since she was a kitten (I got her and her sister from a
friend at work), and from the minute I brought them home, they were
"home"! They're all strictly indoor cats; they don't go outside at all.
It's too dangerous in town. Life would be empty without my girls, and
especially Sammy!
