Carter, the Cat of the Day
Name: Carter
Age: Six months old
Gender: Male
Kind: Creamsicle Tabby
Home: Anchorage, Alaska, USA

This little tiger is Carter - a recent addition to our family. He's a six-month old creamsicle tabby with the most beautiful eyes. Notice how they match his coat perfectly. Carter was found roaming alone around a trailer park when he was about eight weeks old and was rescued by the wonderful people at Kitty & K-9 Connection. I met him about three months later and agreed to give him a try in my home which already had three cats. Carter quickly won the hearts of the two humans in this family, and the acceptance of the three feline members, who indulge his kittenish ways, play with him, groom him regularly, and even allow him to sleep on the bed with them. Who can blame them? He's charming, handsome, and a great ball of fire.

Like any respectable six-month old kitten, Carter's energy levels exceed normal limits and playtime is of the highest priority-unless it's dinner time. His favorite toy is a plastic bottle cap, followed closely by the feather on a stick, and his humans' stretchy bracelets, which he loves to steal at every opportunity. But when it's time to play, anything he can pick up and carry in his mouth becomes a plaything. Carter enthusiastically tows his feather on a stick all over the house, and brings it to me wherever I am, hoping for some play time. He also brings me his bottle caps to toss for him. Its his own version of fetch. His energetic games of rip and tear, where he runs full tilt from one end of the house to the other and back again, never fail to gain the interest of the other cats, one or more of whom usually joins in. And when it's time to settle down, he puts as much energy into cuddling and purring as he does playing. All of a sudden plop, there he is in your lap purring up a storm. He has a magnificent purr. I always say "Carter with Insta-purr - just add fingers." In truth, he doesn't have to be touched; when he's happy, he'll just purr all on his own. You can hear him all over the room.

Carter has added a lot of fun and love to this household, and we're so happy he has come here to live. There was no doubt from the minute he arrived, he's here to stay. Carter has conquered!
