I've
been told that Angel very much resembles a mitted bluepoint lynx rag
doll. Now nine months old, my brother found her and three other siblings
in a storage building behind his home when they were about six weeks old.
Her mother and three brothers and sisters look like regular mixed breeds,
except two have slightly long hair like hers.
Angel has her own room and twin bed where she takes daily naps and
sleeps at night. Her favorite toy is a ball with a furry tail attached
to it. She bangs it against our bedroom door and meows to get in after
I've gone to bed at night. She expects her treats three times a day,
and loves to play wIth her stuffed mice. Her favorite pastime is
roaming around our screen porch. She now weighs about twelve pounds and is
definitely a special member of the family.
Angel's best friends are my ten-year-old Min Pin Baxter and eight-year-old
Poodle Bridgette. She expects treats when they get theirs and follows them
everywhere, playfully attacking or jumping over them. My fish have got
used to her antics as she tries to catch them through the aquarium glass.
My husband and I went on vacation and left her in the care of my sister.
On several occasions when my sister would come to check on her, she had
somehow gotten the fish food out of the drawer and opened it, leaving fish
food all over the floor. Other times while enjoying her freedom, Angel
would drag her bag of treats to various places in the house. At night,
she follows me to the bedroom, and goes straight under the bed. As soon as
I hit the bed, she's up on top of the covers attacking my feet. My poodle
Bridgette eventually loses her patience and so do I, so I have to put her
out of the bedroom. In the morning, she'll be outside the door meowing,
but she actually sounds like she's saying "Mama". She really does. We love
Angel so much, and can't imagine life without her. One minute she's a
crazy wildcat and the next a cuddly little kitten. Such personality.
(The flower in the image at the top of the page is an artificial poinsettia, so no one has to
worry!)
