I
just had to send my Christmas Picture of our kitten. Meet Oliver -
nickname Ollie Ba Ba. Otis and Ollie were trapped at seven weeks old along
with their feral mother. She was spayed and released and though it may
sound cruel to take the kittens from their mother, these guys were young
enough to socialize and place in good homes rather the neuter and
release.
While trying to find good homes for them, we volunteered to "foster"
thru the weekend and fortunately became "failed fosterers." They have
both been with us since that weekend in July and have been a constant joy.
Naturally we knew they would both be interested in the Christmas tree;
however, Ollie has always been the bold explorer and it didn't take him
anytime to take the leap and climb the artificial "tree". Luckily the
branches are strong and were able to support him without bringing the
entire tree down. Our tree is decorated every year with all types of
animal ornaments and stuffed animals, if the tree had been totally
decorated he would have blended right into his magical Christmas tree.
It is important to keep your pets safe during the holidays so we have
since placed devices under the tree to discourage this type of behavior.
