Sgt.
Boots is a Maine coon mix. He is a very laid back cat who enjoys
playing in the snow with his sister Emmy Lou, watching birds out the
window and waiting for Santa under the Christmas tree at his home in Mt.
Vernon, Maine.
Sgt. Boots is a great cat. I find him sitting in the window nightly as I
return home from work, beginning a conversation when I walk through the
door anxiously waiting for a handful of fresh food added to his bowl.
During the winter months he enjoys laying on the warm floor in front of
the woodstove, and gently clinging to my leg as I walk by, dragging him
for a short distance. He is a very affectionate cat, rubbing up against
my leg when he wants to be held, lying on my arm and head-butting my
hand until I wake up and pat him. He shows more affection by licking the
eyes and behind the ears of our older male cat Pokey, who is approaching
eighteen years of age and has a harder time grooming himself.
Chasing squirrels, chipmunks or his sister Emmy Lou around the yard
seems to be one of his favorite activities, he also amuses himself
dropping catnip mice in a box, the shower or any other enclosed
area, then tossing them about. Hiding under the bed then springing on
your feet as you walk by seems to be another playful game he enjoys. We
love Sgt. Boots along with our other two cats, they are a very important
