Bertha, the Cat of the Day
Name: Bertha
Age: Eight years old
Gender: Female
Kind: Maine Coon, Calico mix
Home: Daly City, California, USA

This is Bertha - (also goes by "Meatball"). Bertha was a feral kitten we rescued when her mother brought her to our backyard for food. We've never been sure whether she adopted us or vice versa, not that it matters now! She's grown into a very large, affectionate sweet-tempered and a real friendly girl who is a complete "people cat" who doesn't waste a minute before rubbing against anyone who visits the house. She visits the neighbors regularly, and frequently visits an elderly couple several houses down the street where she enjoys sleeping on their bed when she's not doing the same at home. She loves visitors and everybody's lap is an open invitation to curl up and purr.

She loves tuna and especially shrimp or any kind of "people food." If it's good enough for her humans, it's more than good enough for Bertha!

Catnip and being brushed are big favorites as well. This photo is Bertha in her catnip garden. She's a great cat! Bertha shares the house with her sister Gracie, and two other family cats. Her favorite pastimes, besides "kitchen patrol on-the-lookout for tuna," are looking out the window, exploring the backyard and enjoying dinner time. She's a great cat, who loves making friends with everyone.
